# 2.1 What is GrumpyCoinCat?

GrumpyCoinCat (GRUMP) is a new ERC20 token that embodies a unique philosophy in the cryptocurrency world. It's not just another token with a clever name; it's a statement against the overly serious and boring cryptocurrencies that flood the market. With GRUMP, we're here to provide a witty and refreshing approach to decentralized finance (DeFi). The fees collected support marketing efforts and the team behind the project, ensuring sustainable growth and community engagement.
